Name - Magnus Faustus
Age - 18 Years Old
Gender - Male
Race/Species - Dra'zinian (Looks "Human")
(Addendum: His genealogy seems to suggest he's got some degree of mixed racial qualities, although he does not appear to be too interested in sharing the details of these.)
Height - 5'10"
Weight - 175 lbs
Build - Slight athleticism that contrasts his obviously sheltered upbringing. Is hardly 'thin' but is not exactly 'fat' either.
Skin color - Caucasian skin tones extremely slight tan, obviously not much of an outdoorsman and is finding it difficult to adjust to his currently vagabond lifestyle.
Hair- Short cut, variably unkempt and disarranged hair of a light brown, that somehow manages to bring to mind the color of rats crawling off of a sinking ship.
Eye color - Brown, albeit lacking the luster of one who is enthralled with life. Variably described with adjectives like condescending, cynical or blank.
Clothing - Blue jeans, light cotton shirts of muted colors, hiking shoes and what appears to be a rather old breastplate of punished iron that seems too thin now to actually serve it's purpose. Two forearm bracers made of what appears to be bronze are recent additions to his attire, still relatively effective and definitely better kept than his cuirass.
Weapons -
Two Iron Broadswords (European style)
One six round revolver firing .45 caliber rounds.
One side-by-side double barrel shotgun.
Accessories - A backpack that seems to carry far more than it should be able to.
Abilities/Special FX -
Rune Magic: Dra'zinians possess a sort of magic that is based upon mana transmission routes within their bodies. Depending on the arrangement of these they can use particular 'elements' or spells. Magnus however does not have any structures that define an element so when he 'casts' he actually gathers and ejects focused mana from around himself. The effect of which is inevitably some sort of explosion when the mana tries to revert to it's native unfocused state, however on the chance that such projectiles intercept a spell, the two seem to merge, although the elementally imbued spell seems to always decide the direction. Secondarily, Magnus' ability to defend against magic seems similarly connected to this ability, as he extends an alternation of this effect out to break incoming 'spells' back into undirected mana within a certain radius.
Burning Blood: For some reason Magnus seems to operate with trade off on his abilities related to his stress level. With increasing stress, tension or emotional distress he becomes less capable with magic, and becomes more physically apt. However as this trade occurs his ability to perceive strategy diminishes until he effectively becomes an enraged berserker, perhaps even so far as to ignore his capacity to harm his enemies at range and trying to close to melee range to try to strangle them. He seems to have gained some modicum of control over himself at lower levels of induced stress, allowing him to react faster in combat, although this ability is much reduced if he is unable to take cues from his sibling.
Bad Luck: For some reason Magnus suffers from poor luck, as he seems to stumble from one misfortune to the next, with monetary windfalls of his adventure flowing through his fingers like water. However in spite of his poor luck, he has one thing to his advantage in terms of this, that none of his brushes with death have managed to claim his life.
Personality - Magnus would describe himself as something completely different than he actually is. He would say he's generous, when he's actually avaricious, or kind when he actually has little empathy for others outside his family. An almost innate distastefulness attaches itself to most of what he does in the presence of others, as he makes no attempt to disguise his personal goals in any matter he's involved in. Around his sister he might be seen in a slightly different light, as the two of them operate as devil's advocates for the other. Strangely enough Magnus does not appear to have any particular 'drive' towards violence in his personality, preferring to get what he wants by guile and strategy.
Brief History - Magnus was born on Dra'zin, to a family with a long and politically unstable history. While their past was seemingly golden, their recent history has been greatly diminished as one event had turned their entire social standing upside down. So Magnus' abhorrently disinterested attitude might have been acquired by this part of his upbringing. It has been further compounded by the fact that his particular branch has been further alienated from peers in the family due to the elopement of his grandmother to a husband of another race. This has made it extremely difficult for him to share in any of the trappings of his homeland's feudal society as he as viewed much as a mongrel dog, pragmatically useful to it's master, but to be ignored or kicked by any other. Magnus himself would not imagine himself in such a position, and thinks that his recently sidetracked attempt to go through his family's initiation ceremony would give him the recognition and social standing that he always felt he deserved.
