Name: Syos
Age: 30
Gender: Male
Species/Race: Benefactor (A race of beings who are made of imagination and who exist to help others by being their imaginations, so to speak. Syos looks like an anthropomorphic cocker spaniel.)
Height: 5' 10"
Build: Average.
Coloration (fur): Blue fur that glows slightly.
Eye Color: Blue.
Clothing: Long, thick white robe with a hood.
Occupation/Class: A general do-gooder who tries to help those in need no matter what their need is, as long as it's not immoral.
Affiliations: Has a sister named Darlon. He hasn't seen her in a long time. They love each other very much, and Syos often wonders where Darlon is and what she is doing.
Accessories: None.
Pets: None.
Abilities/Skills and Power Level: Because Syos is made of imagination, others can imagine him into other forms once he has granted them permission to do so. He can grant such permission to any sentient being except another Benefactor (Benefactors cannot transform each other.) The maximum power of a form depends on how vivid, detailed, and all-around creative a job the imaginer does. Therefore, if someone wants Syos to protect them from harm, they should try to be very creative with the form he will make use of when protecting them. In order to transform Syos, the imaginer must be looking at him with their own eyes (thus, looking at him through a spy satellite, a magic mirror, or even a telescope won't work.)
Granting someone this permission involves great trust on Syos's part, because once he has granted someone permission to transform him, he cannot withdraw that permission until an hour has passed (once the hour is over, he can withdraw it at any time.) Whenever he grants someone permission to transform him, he must seal it by speaking the following sentence: "For at least an hour, I am your imagination."
Syos cannot transform himself, except by reverting to his anthro cocker spaniel form when he withdraws someone's permission to transform him. He automatically reverts to that form when the permission is withdrawn.
As an anthro cocker spaniel, Syos also has keen senses of hearing and smell.
Weaknesses: General weaknesses of Benefactors include that their powers are useless without a friend around to transform them, and that touching platinum will drain their powers and leave them physically weak for one hour. Syos's specific weaknesses include that he is overly quick to grant others permission to transform him and he suffers from emotional instability.
Special Effects: Sometimes turns transparent for two seconds. Whenever he grants someone permission to transform him, both Syos and the person he granted the permission to are surrounded by swirling lights for several seconds.
Description of Personality: A very friendly and helpful person. He is prone to bouts of anguish and desperation that can only be cured by helping others. Feels great when he does a good deed. Feels terrible whenever he makes a mistake that hurts anyone other than a villain in any way. Likes to have fun.
Syos refuses to let other people let him decide what forms he wants to be imagined into. He feels it is his duty and privilege to only be transformed into the forms other people want him to be, never the ones he wants to be. There have been a few exceptions.
Though he is a nice person, Syos realizes one of the roles Benefactors are supposed to play is that of guardians. Therefore, he is willing to fight in order to protect others. However, in order to be effective in battle, he must have someone imagine him into a form well-suited to combat.
Brief History: For a long time, the Benefactors have inhabited a world known as Salgan. Though small in number, they have determinedly helped others through being any kind of friend needed: a comforter, a playmate, a worker, a guardian, a pet, a steed, or something else. Syos was being a friend to a person in need when a mysterious transformation accident thrust him right out of Salgan and into another world.
Ambition: "To help others. That is what Benefactors exist for, and I have no desire to change that. Those of my kind who want to change their purpose end up becoming dark, corrupt beings known as Malefactors."
